Seulement, faute de se mettre d\u2019accord sur les sp\u00e9cifications de ce futur appareil, cette initiative fut abandonn\u00e9e deux ans plus tard\u2026 avant d\u2019\u00eatre reprise par les Britanniques, sous l\u2019appellation \u00ab\u00a0ACA\u00a0\u00bb [Agile Combat Aircraft], avec la participation des Allemands [via MBB] et des Italiens [avec Aeritalia]. De leurs c\u00f4t\u00e9s, les Fran\u00e7ais d\u00e9cid\u00e8rent de faire cavalier seul avec le projet ACX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour autant, toute id\u00e9e de coop\u00e9ration europ\u00e9enne n\u2019\u00e9tait pas abandonn\u00e9e\u2026 et il fut question de fusionner l\u2019ACX et l\u2019ACA en un seul projet, appel\u00e9 EAP [Experimental Aircraft Program], et d\u2019y associer l\u2019Espagne.
