Reliability is a non-negotiable requirement for every connector used in military and aerospace systems, but achieving it differs sharply by domain. Aerospace connectors must survive extreme vibration, shock and temperature cycling at altitude while staying sealed against moisture and dust. Naval connectors face the same mechanical stresses plus prolonged exposure to salt water and corrosion. Ground and combat vehicle connectors add chemical exposure and battlefield conditions, such as ballistic events, to the mix. When reliability is compromised, the consequences can be expensive and deadly. A single failed connector can ground an aircraft, disable a radar system, or take a multi-million-euro platform out of service — and in active combat, put lives at risk.
