This paper presents a test setup for evaluating Internet of Things (IoT) nodes used in pre-launch satellite qualification, with a focus on a temperature aware power manager (PM). The PM dynamically routes energy between a battery and a supercapacitor, entering a dedicated low temperature mode to mitigate the sharp degradation of battery capacity in cold environments. Implemented in hardware description language for rapid prototyping and future ASIC integration, the PM adapts charging, supply selection, and system activity based on ambient temperature and node status.
