The rapid expansion of agricultural drone usage is reshaping Brazil’s crop protection landscape, with the number of units in operation increasing more than eleven-fold in just four years. According to Ministério da Agricultura e Pecuária (MAPA), the national fleet grew from about 3,000 drones in 2021 to approximately 35,000 units in 2025, reflecting accelerated adoption driven by operational efficiency and technological maturity.
Industry data indicate that drone-based spraying now delivers performance levels comparable to conventional ground applications, while offering additional gains in input efficiency, water savings, and operational flexibility. The technology has proven particularly effective in areas where traditional mechanization faces logistical or agronomic constraints.
