Russia launched the largest aerial assault on Ukraine since the beginning of the war, targeting Kyiv and multiple regions with hundreds of drones and missiles over a two day period.
According to Ukrainian officials, the attacks involved more than 1,500 drones and dozens of missiles, making it one of the most intense bombardments since Russia’s full scale invasion began in February 2022.
The strikes come despite ongoing international efforts to push both sides toward negotiations and a possible ceasefire.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the attacks as evidence that Moscow is not preparing to end the war.
