NIOA has announced a partnership with SYPAQ Systems to deliver counter-drone capability to the Australian Defence Force, as demand grows for sovereign defence technologies.
The agreement will see Australian-owned NIOA provide fuzes and warheads for SYPAQ’s Corvo Strike Counter-Uncrewed Aerial System interceptor platform. The Corvo Strike is a wholly Australian designed and manufactured military-grade system developed under the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator Mission Syracuse program.
Under the arrangement, NIOA will deliver and integrate a telemetry-capable Inert Proximity Fuze and Kinetic Effector Payload package. The work will include static firing demonstrations of a live fuze variant, development of a fragmenting warhead payload design, and support for integration with small uncrewed aerial systems to enable flight demonstrations.
