(MENAFN) The Russian Defense Ministry has released footage showing the interception of Ukrainian rotorcraft bomber  drones, which are often equipped with Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet technology. These large  drones, known as “Baba Yaga” — a name borrowed from Slavic folklore — are modified agricultural rotorcraft repurposed for combat.

In the video published Thursday, Russian forces from the Western military group are seen using small kamikaze drones to shoot down three of these Ukrainian aerial vehicles. Thanks to Starlink, the Baba Yaga drones can operate over long distances, giving them capabilities similar to high-end military drones. They typically have four to six rotors and can carry heavy payloads, but their size also makes them easier targets for air defenses and snipers.
