Rafal Modrzewski and Pekka Laurila, co-founders of Iceye, started looking for prospective markets for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data in the Arctic.
It was an obvious fit for the SAR constellation operator created in Finland in 2014. Because of its lack of terrestrial infrastructure, the Arctic remains an important market for Iceye eight years later.
